Saya was raised within a heavy musical household. Her father, Charlie Gray, is an accomplished trumpet player, composer and producer who has played for the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, Aretha Franklin and Tony Bennett. Her Japanese born Mother is the founder and director of Discovery Through the Arts, one of Toronto’s largest independent music schools.
As a child, Saya was given extensive ear training and has learned under some of Toronto’s finest musicians ever since. It’s seen her land sessions and gigs all over North America & The UK in genres ranging from Jazz, Hip-Hop, RnB and Gospel. Saya’s main focus has been her solo music with her debut record nearing release!
