Description

Introducing the F Bass VI! Over the years players have been asking us to make guitars again, well, this is how we build a guitar…as a bass.

There’s plenty of confusion surrounding this re-emerging classic as it occupies its own space between a guitar and a bass. While tuned EADGBE like a guitar, it’s tuned an octave down with heavier gauge strings and built upon a 30″ scale length. So why a VI?

Play those fast runs and melodic chords with ease and explore the extended range of a six string instrument without the bulk & weight of a traditional six string bass. Also, pitch bending those low frequencies via the vibrato is highly addictive.

Reach new lows and tackle bass duties with the comfort of a shorter scale length, familiar 10.4mm string spacing, and standard E to e tuning.

Such a vast sonic palette to tap into without needing to swap out your instrument. Delve into a world of effects knowing the Bass VI will take much more kindly to pedals than a traditional bass. The three pickups in conjunction with the bass-cut “strangle” switch allows you to tackle traditional and exploratory tones all the same…all while being able to duck the frequencies occupied by other instruments in a given track.

A special note about our “strangle” switch; unlike the original which greatly reduces output with “strangle” engaged and tone rolled off, ours retains a very similar output regardless of where both of those settings are dialled.

Overall, the VI evokes new ideas, offers new sonic capabilities and is just so flippin’ fun to play!

While there’s much to love about the famed original, we’ve made key improvements throughout to improve the tone, playability, stability and so much more. The F Bass VI was conceived over three years ago, so we’re thrilled the secret is finally out as we’ve been bursting with excitement!
